The Long Road Home

B-17G Flying Fortresses from Snetterton Heath, Norfolk, return from a raid on Brunswick, deep in Germany on February 21st. 1944. A seven hour round trip braving heavy anti-aircraft fire and marauding fighters to deliver over 4,000 tons of high explosive to the enemy's heartland. The gaps in the elements tell the sad story of those who are not returning this day.
